Frequently Asked Questions

What is Postural Alignment?

Postural alignment therapy focuses on identifying and correcting imbalances in the body that may cause pain, tension, or limited movement. We assess your posture, movement patterns, and muscle function to create a customized plan that may include: Stretching and strengthening exercises, Hands-on adjustments, and lifestyle recommendations to support long-term alignment. Posture Clinic uses the Egoscue Method® - a posture-based therapy that focuses on the idea that chronic pain is often caused by misalignments in the musculoskeletal system—not necessarily injury or age.

What to expect on my first Posture therapy visit?

Your first visit begins with a short intake form and a conversation about your health history, pain areas, and wellness goals. If you're here for postural alignment, we’ll perform a visual posture assessment and simple movement tests to understand your body’s imbalances. For massage sessions, we’ll customize your treatment based on your preferences—whether you need relaxation, deep tissue work, or targeted relief. You’ll always be treated in a calm, private space with your comfort as the top priority. After your session, we’ll offer care tips, home exercises (if needed), and suggest a plan for ongoing support. For postural therapy, please wear comfortable, form-fitting clothes. For massage, just bring yourself—we provide everything else. Your first session may last 60–90 minutes depending on services booked. We’re here to help you feel better, move better, and live with less pain.

Do I need a evaluation/consultation before my first visit?

Yes, for postural alignment clients, we recommend a consultation or intake session to assess your posture and discuss your goals. We will take photos, review any medical history, and address any concerns. For massage-only clients, you'll just complete a quick intake form before your first appointment.

Is there a cancellation policy?

We ask for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a fee.

What should I do before and after my massage?

Before your session, stay hydrated and eat a light meal if needed—avoid heavy meals or alcohol. Arrive a few minutes early to relax and complete any forms. Wear comfortable clothing and communicate openly about pressure or pain areas. After your massage, continue hydrating to help flush out toxins, and give your body time to rest and absorb the benefits. Avoid intense workouts right after, and pay attention to how your body feels. Light movement, warm baths, or stretching can enhance recovery. Let us know how you’re feeling—we’re here to support your healing journey.

Can I book online? Is it safe?

Yes! We use ClinicSense, a secure, HIPAA-compliant booking system designed specifically for wellness and healthcare practices. Your personal and health information is protected with bank-level encryption, secure data storage, and privacy protocols that meet strict healthcare standards. Booking online is fast, convenient, and safe—you’ll receive email confirmations, reminders, and digital intake forms, all handled through a secure platform. We respect your privacy and take every measure to keep your information confidential. If you prefer, you can always contact us directly to book over the phone or by email.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash and credit cards for all services. At this time, we do not accept insurance, but we’re happy to provide a receipt if you'd like to submit it to your insurance or HSA/FSA provider independently. Payment is due at the time of service. Thank you for your understanding!
